Shefali Shah, who had won her acting in web series like ‘Delhi Crime’, had become a type cast at a very young age. She said that she had not even reached a certain age for this to happen. Shefali stated her pain in an interview saying that due to being a type cast, she had to play Akshay Kumar’s mother older than her.

Speaking to The Times of India, Shefali said, “I was type cast for the role of mother at a very young age. Even I had not reached a certain age. When I was 20, I had a I was the mother of a 15-year-old in the show. When I played a 45-year-old mother, then a 20-year-old. Then when I was 28-30, I played Akshay Kumar’s mother. “
Projects were rejected for many years
According to Shefali Shah, he rejected many roles simply because he did not have much enthusiasm. She says, “For many years I kept refusing work because it was not fair. Then came ‘Jus’ (web series). Then ‘Once again’ (film), which was a very beautiful love story. After that ‘Delhi Crime’ (web series). All three of these projects put me at the center of the frame. The avenues have opened up for me and now I am doing what I want to do. “
Akshay’s mother played the role in time
Shefali played Akshay Kumar’s mother and Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in the 2005 film ‘Waqt: Race Against Time’. She was around 33 and Akshay was 38 at the time. She appeared in the role of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in Netflix’s web series ‘Delhi Crime’. The web series, based on the Nirbhaya gang rape case in Delhi in 2012, was voted Best Web Series at the International Emmy Awards last month. This is the first Indian series to win this International Award.
